Towson And Loyola Ready To Renew Local Battle

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University men's basketball team begins a two-game homestand by hosting Loyola. It will be 75th all-time meeting between the programs separated by eight miles.

  • Brian Fobbs (12 points vs. North Dakota State) and Nicolas Timberlake (14 points vs. Florida Atlantic) established career best scoring outputs.
  • Tobias Howard dished a career best eight assists against FAU.
  • Fobbs led the Tigers in scoring during the tournament with a 10.3 point per game average.
  • Timberlake and Nakye Sanders scored in double figures in two of the Tigers three games in the Bahamas. They averaged 8.0 points each.
  • Dennis Tunstall led Towson in rebounding (6.7 rpg.) during the tournament.
 
A Look At Loyola
  • Loyola defeated Hampton, 75-66 in the GotPrint.com Legends Classic presented by Old Trapper on Tuesday in Detroit.
  • Andrew Kostecka (18) and Chuck Champion (17) combined for 35 points to lead Loyola, while Isaiah Hart scored 11.
  • Brent Holcombe finished with nine points to go with seven rebounds, matching Kostecka for team-high honors.
  • Sam Norton had a career-high four steals.
  • Kostecka was named to the Legends Classic All-Tournament Team after scoring 43 points in the two games in the Motor City. He finished with a career-high 23 Monday night versus the University of Detroit Mercy.
  • Loyola is a member of Patriot League.
 
Up Next
  • Towson concludes its brief homestand on Friday, Nov. 30 against Vermont at 7 p.m. This will be the first meeting between these programs since Towson defeated Vermont in December 5, 2012.
