Zane Martin scored 28 points and
Mike Morsell added 20 but it wasn't enough for Towson in a 79-73 loss at James Madison in a Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) contest at the Convocation Center Saturday afternoon.
Justin Gorham added a career best 17 rebounds and scored nine points for the Tigers.
Eddie Keith II also reached double digits for Towson with 10 points. Keith II scored Towson's final five points. While making five of its final six shots over the final five minutes, JMU outscored Towson, 21-10.
A Look At Drexel
Tramaine Isabell had 23 points, eight rebounds and eight assists as Drexel knocked off William & Mary on the road, 91-79, in front of a crowd of 3,758 at Kaplan Arena. It was the fourth straight win of the season for the Dragons (11-15, 5-7 CAA), who had all five starters score in double figures. The Tribe (15-8, 8-4) entered the game tied for the top spot in the Colonial Athletic Association. The Dragons shot a season-best 62 percent from the floor. With a 19.3 point per game average. Isabell leads Drexel in scoring with a 19.4 point per game average. He has nine 20+-point games this season and ranks among the CAA's top seven in scoring, rebounding and assists. Austin Williams averaged 10.5 ppg, 8.0 rpg and 4.0 blocks last week and rejected a shot at the buzzer vs. JMU. He's second in the CAA in FG%, fifth in rebounds and first in blocks.
Last Meeting Against Drexel
The Towson University basketball team used a 13-0 run to close out the first half on the way to a 90-68 victory over Drexel on Thursday, Jan. 18 inside of SECU Arena. The Tigers put five players in double figures.
Zane Martin led the way with 18 points, while
Brian Starr added 16 points.
Mike Morsell and
Justin Gorham each scored 13. Towson outrebounded the Dragons, 46-25, overall and 18-8 on the offensive end.
Dennis Tunstall led the way with eight rebounds to go along with four points and three blocks. Austin Williams (14) and Tremaine Isabell (13) were Drexel's leading scorers.
Parade Guests
This is the second time that Towson will be in a city the day of a Super Bowl parade. The Tigers were in Boston in 2015 after the Patriots defeated the Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIX. Now, the Tigers will be in Philadelphia. The Eagles parade is Thursday following their victory over the Patriots in Super Bowl XLII earlier this week.

Pat Skerry took over the program in 2011-12, Towson has grabbed at least 40 rebounds 97 times.
Brotherly Love
The Tigers are 3-0 against Philadelphia schools. Towson defeated Penn on Nov. 20 (79-71), La Salle on Dec. 1 (67-60), and Drexel on Jan. 18 (90-68). Towson is 3-1 against teams from the state of Pennsylvania this season, falling to Pitt, 63-59 on Dec. 22.
