BROOKLINE, Mass. – Northeastern scored 11 runs over the middle innings to hand the Towson University baseball team a 22-2 defeat in the series opener Friday afternoon.

How it Happened
- NU got on the board early as Ian Fair hit a solo home to right center in the second inning.
- Towson tied the game in the fourth as Richie Palacios reached on a three-base error and scored on a Colin Gimblet single up the middle.
- The Huskies took the lead back in the fifth as a two-base throwing error helped lead to three runs in the inning. Mason Koppens plated two runs with a soft single into right center and Charlie McConnell drove him in with a triple into the right field corner.
- NU put the game out of reach in the sixth as they collected seven hits and drew three walks in scoring eight runs in the frame.
- The Huskies added four more runs in the seventh inning.
- Towson got another run across in the eighth after Aaron Brush reached on an error and scored when Andrew Cassard singled through the left side. Cassard's hit came on the 11th pitch of his at-bat.
- David Marriggi (3-5) took the loss after allowing seven runs, six earned, on six hits over five innings.
- Tyler Brown (5-3) allowed one unearned run on two hits over six innings in picking up the victory.
