Anna Holehouse became the program's all-time digs leader as the Tigers topped visiting La Salle 3-1 Friday night at SECU Arena.

Early in the first set, Holehouse picked up her fifth dig of the night as her teammates cheered her with handmade signs from the bench, recognizing the accomplishment. Holehouse broke the career mark of 1,869 set by former teammate
Paige Sekerak from 2011-14.

The Tigers came out strong winning the first two sets before La Salle breathed life into its match to take the third frame. Towson (4-7) closed out the match with a decisive fourth set to win 3-1 (25-20, 25-13, 20-25, 25-16).

How It Happened
- The theme of the night was tight action early in the sets before things broke open. The teams tied six times in the first dozen serves. After the match was tied 6-6, La Salle reeled off three unanswered points to take a 9-6 lead before eventually grabbing an 11-9 lead.
- With Annie Ertz on the line, Towson ripped off eight-straight points to take a commanding 17-11 lead. La Salle pulled back within four, 18-14 Towson, before the Tigers went up 21-15 on a 3-1 run. Towson closed out the first set scoring two of the final three points for a 25-20 decision.
- Like the first set, the next stanza was tight early as the teams tied four times on the first 10 points. Towson used small runs of three and four to build a substantial lead, rushing to take a 21-12 advantage. After a Tiger service ace, Towson closed the door on the second set with a four-point run to win 21-13.
- After the break, the teams battled early in the third set. After three ties early, La Salle ran off four straight points for an 11-9 lead. Towson pulled back within one point at 15-14 in favor of the Explorers, but a costly 5-0 run for La Salle put the lead out of reach before the Explorers won the third 25-20.
- The Tigers controlled the pace early in what proved to be the deciding set, take a 6-3 lead early. La Salle made it a one-point set at 8-7 for the Tigers, but back-and-forth action kept the lead for Towson. Kristin Spengler stepped to the line as the Towson scored six in a row for a 19-12 lead. Towson closed down the match with back-to-back points to win the fourth and final set 25-16.
Behind the Numbers
- Holehouse finished the match with season-high of 30 digs, her biggest number since putting up 45 digs last season against James Madison on Nov. 6.
- Ertz led Towson's attack with a team-best 13 kills while freshman Emily Jarome and Olamide Sonuga added eight and seven kills, respectively. Sonuga led Towson with a .353 attack percentage.
- Spengler and Marrisa Wonders each hit double digits in assists, scoring 20 and 19, respectively.
- Towson swung well in the second set, hitting .538 for the frame, leading to a .210 hitting percentage for the evening at SECU Arena.
- The Tigers scored five service aces Friday night, paced by a pair from Ertz. Jarome, Silvia Grassini and Jocelyn Kuilan all had one ace.
- Towson limited La Salle to a .101 hitting percentage, aided by 16 block assists and a pair of solo stops.
- La Salle was led by Devin Corah's 15 kills while Elizabeth Osborn chipped in 11.Â

- Towson returns to SECU Arena tomorrow for a pair of matches to round out tournament season. The Tigers open the day with a 1 p.m. showdown with Ball State.
- Towson concludes the Tiger Invitational on Saturday with a 7 p.m. clash with local rival UMBC.
- Earlier in the day, Ball State topped UMBC 3-2.
