TOWSON, MD. – Senior Day highlighted the day as the Towson University men's swimming and diving team took on Drexel inside of Burdick Hall. Drexel went on to win the meet 169-127.
Jack Saunderson led the way for the Tigers, winning two events as well as being a part of the winning 200-yard medley relay.
He had a time of 1:46.38 in the 200-yard butterfly and a time of 47.68 in the 100-yard butterfly. The winning relay with him was
Owen Robinson,
Ryan O'Leary and
Matt Essing (1:31.13).
How it Happened
- Essing was also first in the 50-yard freestyle (20.72) and the 100-yard freestyle (45.42).
- Will Canny was first in the 1-meter diving (277.65) and the 3-meter diving (310.85) competition.
- Matt Kenney came in second in the 1000-yard freestyle (9:47.80), while teammate Evan Brophy finished in third (9:49.24)
- Ryan Baldino saw second place in the 200-yard freestyle (1:42.610).
- Kenny Afolabi-Brown was second in the 100-yard breaststroke (58:08).
- The 400-yard freestyle team of Baldino, Brophy, Zach Bishop and Essing had a time of 3:08.25 to finish in second.
- Saunderson also came in second place in the 200-yard individual medley (1:52.87). Ben Johnston was in fourth (1:56.40).
- Brophy came in second place in the 500-yard freestyle (4:41.30).
- Bishop and Robison was in second (1:52.61) and third (1:55.41) place in the 200-yard backstroke.
- In the 100-yard backstroke, Bishop finished in third place (51.28).
- O'Leary came in fourth-place in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:10.66).
