NEWARK, Del. - The Towson University men's swimming and diving team took home 12 first-place victories over Delaware Saturday afternoon to defeat the Blue Hens 188-92. The meet took place inside Rawstrom Natatorium at CBS.
The Tigers earned a combined score of 382 points.
How it Happened
- Zach Bishop, Ben Johnston, Jack Saunderson and Evan Brophy won the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:35.06.
- Teammates Owen Robinson, Ryan O'Leary, Hunter Wright and Matt Essing came in second (1:33.69).
- Evan Lynch finished in second-place in the 1000-yard freestyle (9:51.20), while Essing in fourth (9:54.36) and Hunter Wright in fifth (10:05.18).
- Brophy was victorious in the 200-yard freestyle (1:42.47). Essing finished in fourth (1:46.90) and Andrew Snyder in fifth (1:47.00).
- O'Leary won the 100-yard breaststroke (58.69), while Ben Johnston came in second-place (59.63).
- Ryan Baldino and Kenny Afolabi-Brown had a 1-2 finish in the 50-yard freestyle. Baldino had a time of 21.27 and Afolabi-Brown had a time of 21.91.
- Devin Gaul took home first in both the 1-meter (189.60) and 3-meter (214.00) diving competitions.
- Essing had a time of 46.28 to come in first-place in the 100-yard freestyle, while Baldino came in second (46.75).
- Three Tigers finished in the top five in the 200-yard backstroke. Robinson was in second (1:53.74), Nick McClure in third (1:57.19) and Lynch in fourth (1:57.71).
- O'Leary also came in first in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:06.93) and Brown came in third (2:14.04).
- Saunderson won both the 100-yard backstroke (50.01) and the 100-yard butterfly (47.35).
- Richard Keller won the 400 IM (4:08.29) and Snyder came in second (4:12.93).
- Brophy, Ben Johnston, Zach Bishop and Saunderson came in first-place in the 400-yard freestyle (3:07.82.).
- Hunter Wright, Tommy Whitman, Robinson and Essing came in third (3:10.78).

The Tigers are back in action on Wednesday, Jan. 25 as they stay local and they take on the Greyhounds of Loyola. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. in the Mangione Pool at the Fitness & Aquatics Center.
