Towson Falls at James Madison

HARRISONBURG, Va. – Friday afternoon the Towson University tennis team fell to James Madison on the road in its second conference game of the year. The Tigers fall to 2-9 on the year with a 1-1 mark in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play.

How it Happened
  • In singles action, Amelia Lawson took her opponent to a seven-point game in both sets but was unable to turn and take a win.
  • The Tigers were swept in all singles with a late-game fight from Yevgeniya Shusterman taking her opponent to a 6-4 final in the second set as she lost.
  • Towson had Phoebe Collins and Lucy Gloninger in doubles play hard. They fell by three to their Dukes opponents.
From the Coach
"Tough match for Towson playing outside in heavy wind," said head coach Jamie Peterson. "We are looking forward to wrapping up the toughest first half schedule we have had and looking to the second half of the season. Hoping the tough schedule will prepare us for a winning second half. Next week we will practice and play outside in San Diego during spring break."
