Softball Splits Doubleheader With Elon

Elon, N.C. - Towson University softball team split the doubleheader Saturday afternoon against Elon.

 The Tigers fell 8-0 before winning game two, 4-2.

How it Happened- Game 1
  • Elon scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth.
  • The Phoenix scored five more runs in the bottom of the fourth to win the game.
  • Sara Johnson pitched 3.1 innings and had three strikeouts.
How it Happened- Game 2
  • The Phoenix got on board first with a home run by Megan White in the bottom of the second inning.
  • The Tigers tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the third after Madison Wilson reached base with a bunt and Gracyn Houmis reached base on a throwing error.
  • After a triple by Chloe Poulich the Tigers earned three runs and took the lead 4-2.
  • Melissa Abrahamian won the game making her overall record 6-6. She pitched a complete game and had six strikeouts.

Towson will conclude the series tomorrow at 1 p.m. All action will take place at Hunt Softball Park.
