Fuller Named Assistant Athletic Director for Game Day Experience

TOWSON, Md. -- Travis Fuller has been named as the assistant athletic director for game day experience at Towson University. The announcement was made last week by Mike Gathagan, senior associate athletic director, strategic communications.

Fuller comes to Towson after nearly five years at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) where he served as the fan experience and community engagement manager. He brings with him experience from not only college athletics, but various levels of professional sports as well.

"I'm extremely excited to join the Towson University Athletic Department," said Fuller. "I look forward to being part of the Tiger community and calling Maryland home."

While working in the Seawolves' athletic department, Fuller directed all marketing and game presentation for men's ice hockey, men's basketball, women's basketball, women's volleyball and women's gymnastics. He revamped the entire game presentation for all sports to include new promotions, fan interactions on video boards and digital signage in the Alaska Airlines Center and Sullivan Arena.  Fuller oversaw the marketing budget, developed plans and strategies to promote UAA athletics on campus and in the community.

Fuller worked closely with the media relations department at UAA to use social media platforms to reach a larger audience while also creating video board graphics for all athletic events. Additionally, Fuller moderated proposals for officially licensed UAA apparel and promotional items. He was also the community service representative for the University of Alaska Anchorage athletic department.

Fuller helped coordinate student outreach to increase participation and attendance at athletic events by creating the UAA Wolf Pack Student Section, overseeing all elements of the section and promotion. He also worked with members of resident life, student life and Greek life groups to help engage the student body for athletic events.

Prior to his time in Anchorage, Fuller served as the promotions manager for the Erie Seawolves, a minor league baseball organization in Erie, Pennsylvania. While in Erie, Fuller arranged and finalized theme nights, on-field promotions and game-day entertainment. He managed and scheduled the part-time promotions staff and was the on-field host for all in-game contests and anchored in-game promotional videos. Off the field, Fuller organized mascot and player appearances at local events such as parades and charity drives. Additionally, Fuller conducted daily inquiry calls to recruit groups and sponsors for future theme nights and events.

In the fall of 2013, Fuller was a game presentation intern for the NBA's Atlanta Hawks and Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. He assisted in developing creative concepts for in-game features and videos, fan participation and prizing. He arranged cheerleaders and mascots throughout the games and events, as well as photo shoots and media days. Fuller handled the budget for giveaway merchandise and tracked the inventory. He also accompanied the supervisor in script writing and breakdown forms for all game operations employees.

A native of Alden, New York, Fuller graduated from The College at Brockport in May 2012 with a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology. He later earned his Master of Sport Administration from Canisius College in December 2013.
