Towson, Md. – It's the beginning of the Battle of Baltimore as the Towson University women's soccer team takes on Mount St. Mary's Thursday afternoon at the renovated Tiger Soccer Complex. The game is scheduled to kickoff at 5 p.m.
The game versus the Mount is the beginning of the Battle of Baltimore series. The Tigers will also play UMBC next Thursday at home to wrap up the series.
On Monday, Towson will travel to Philadelphia to battle Penn in an afternoon contest beginning at 3 p.m. The Tigers will take on the Quakers at Rhodes Field.
For all home contest fans are able to park in lot 19.

Last Time Out
Towson fell to Marist 3-0 last Sunday, Aug. 25 at the updated Tiger Soccer Complex. Marist scored twice in the second half to pick up a road win. All three of the Red Foxes' goals came from different sources. Rookie

Hannah Warner and
Lindsey Pazdziorko made four saves apiece while Towson's defense was credited with a team save. Abigail Renaud made six saves for Marist.
The Series: Mount St. Mary (Towson leads 16-3-0)
The Tigers defeated The Mount 4-0 in the last contest between the two teams on Sept. 11, 2015. It was the fourth-straight shutout for the Tigers that season. Towson also defeated the Mount 4-1 on Sept. 1, 2013. The Mount took two games from the Tigers in 2012 (1-4) and 2010 (0-1). In the first meeting in 1992, the Tigers won 7-3.
The Series: Penn (Penn leads 1-2-1)
Penn defeated Towson 1-0 in the last contest on Sept. 16, 2018. The contest on Sept. 20, 2015 ended in a 0-0 tie. In the first match between the two teams on Sept. 3, 2010 the Tigers defeated the Quakers 1-0.
Scouting the Tigers (0-2-0)
Towson is on the hunt for its first win of the season. The Tigers fell to Old Dominion (4-1) and Marist (3-0) in the opening weekend.
Jenna Blank, scored at the 13:37 mark to give the Tigers an early 1-0 lead against ODU. Canoles leads the Tigers offense with seven shots, one on goal. Warner has six saves on the season for the Tigers.
Scouting the Mount (0-2-0)
Mount St. Mary's fell to Howard 1-0 and Radford 2-0 during its opening weekend. The Mount fell to Howard in overtime. Goalkeeper Charlotte Elrod started both games, compiling a 1.47 goals against average, 12 saves and a .800 save percentage. Freshman Hannah Cooksey leads The Mount offense with five shots while Jasmine McCree has three.
Scouting the Quakers (0-0-0)
Penn opens up its season Friday, Aug. 30 against No. 3 Stanford. Last season the Quakers clinched a share of the Ivy League championship with Princeton. The top returners for Penn include goalkeeper Kitty Qu, senior Megan Lloyd and junior Chase Geffert.

- The Towson University athletics department deems community service as one of its highest priorities to give back to the Greater Baltimore area.
- For the 7th consecutive year, the department exceeded 10,000 hours of community service to the Greater Baltimore region, finishing with 11,162 hours of community service in the 2018-19 academic season.
- Towson ranked #1 nationally for community service and won the 2018 National Championship for Community Service through the Helper Helper NCAA Team Works Competition.
- Towson had a 97% participation rate, attended 118 community service opportunities and volunteered with 19 organizations.
- Towson won the 2018 Volunteer of the Year Award from Susan G. Komen of Maryland.
