TOWSON, Md. – Towson University Athletics is proud to be partners with Special Olympics Maryland, and you can support them too. The 2021 Maryland Plunge is on!
The Polar Bear Plunge, a Maryland tradition, is on again for its 25
th anniversary, social distancing style. It will be a Virtual Plunge, with participants filming and submitting their own plunges at home.
The plunge is in support of the 8,716 Special Olympics Maryland athletes all across the state. Special Olympics Maryland has set a goal of raising $1 million dollars with all supporters by Jan. 31.
Towson Athletics student-athletes and staff have long taken part in the Polar Bear Plunge to support the community. Athletic director
Tim Leonard has also pledged to take part to support the cause.
Leading the Towson Athletics portion of the fundraiser are
Bria Bennett, Towson Athletics community partnership coordinator, Justin Lima, director of football performance, and
Jeff Miller, redshirt sophomore quarterback on the football team.
