RICHMOND, Va. -- Back in the starting lineup after a month away with an upper body injury,
Nina Cajic had a standout weekend on the road and was honored as the CAA Offensive Player of the Week. The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) made its announcement Monday afternoon.
Cajic earned her second CAA Offensive Player of the Week award, joining her previous honoring on Sept. 6. This is the third time this fall a Tiger has been named CAA Offensive Player of the Week as Fay Bakodimou was selected on Sept. 13. Rachel Hess earned CAA Defensive Player of the Week honors on Oct. 25 as well.
The sophomore from Subotica, Serbia was a force this weekend in a split at James Madison in a battle of first-place teams. Cajic knocked down 4.00 kills per set, racking up 28 total in seven sets. Cajic was incredibly efficient, hitting at a .453 percent clip against a team ranked second in the league in opponent hitting percentage. Cajic feasted on Sunday, landing a career-best 19 kills in four sets (4.75/set) and hitting a .567 and .304 on Saturday. She added two crucial block assists and had one save out of the net at a key point in the fourth set.
Additionally, Elon University's Jenn Krzeminski was selected as the CAA Defensive Player of the Week while College of Charleston's Tynley Smeltzer was named CAA Rookie of the Week.
