TOWSON, Md. – Five Towson University football players have gotten a spot on the Phil Steele Preseason Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) All-Conference Team, announced by the publication.
D'Ago Hunter (kick returner) and
Luke Hamilton (fullback) made the Second Team while
Aaron Grzymkowski (offensive line),
Christian Dixon (linebacker) and
Shane McDonough (punter) were placed on the Third Team.
The Phil Steele College Football publication was founded in 2001, charting college football prospects. Each year, the publication chooses preseason all-conference teams.
Hunter, who was also CAA Preseason All-Conference at kick returner, averaged 26.7 yards a return in 2019, totaling 614 yards on 23 returns, including a touchdown. He had six games with at least 60 yards of kickoff returns.
Hamilton was Towson's primary fullback in 2019, playing in all 12 games and being one of the top backfield blockers in the CAA. He helped block for a running game in 2019 which included Yeedee Thaenrat, who averaged 5.9 yards a carry.
Grzymkowski was a two-time All-CAA guard in 2018 and 2019, blocking for an offense the past two season played for an offense which averaged over 30 points per game. He has started in 24 games the past two Towson seasons.
Dixon finished in the top-25 in tackles per game in the CAA in 2019, averaging 6.4 a contest for 77 on the year, also tying for the team lead with 4.5 sacks as a starting middle linebacker. He had at least six games with over eight tackles.
McDonough was the 2019 All-CAA Third Team punter, finishing second in the league with 43.9 yards per punt. He totaled 1,866 yards on 43 punts, putting 14 punts inside the 20 and sending nine of them over 50 yards.
Towson is set to begin the 2021 season with the Battle for Greater Baltimore on Sept. 4 at Morgan State.
