TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University football team has announced a future home-and-home series with Robert Morris University in 2025 and 2026.
The home-and-home series will kick off on Sept. 27, 2025 at Johnny Unitas® Stadium in Towson, Md. The series heads to Joe Walton Stadium in Moon Township, Pa. on Sept. 26, 2026.
"We are excited to be able to play another perennially strong football program in Robert Morris," said Towson head coach
Rob Ambrose. "These games help shine a light on the quality football in our region."
"We're excited about the opportunity to add Towson as part of our non-conference schedule with a home-and-home series," said RMU head coach Bernard Clark, Jr. "It's a chance to go and compete with a perennial contender in the Colonial Athletic Association as well as help build more regional rivalries."
These will be the first games between Towson and Robert Morris since 1997. The two played a game for three consecutive years from 1995-97: Towson won the first 34-14 at home on Oct. 28, 1995, followed by RMU winning its home game 7-0 on Sept. 21, 1996. Towson won the third contest 33-30 on Oct. 18, 1997 at home.
Robert Morris, under the leadership of Clark, is playing its first year in the Big South Conference. In 2019, the final fall season for the Colonials in the Northeast Conference, Robert Morris won seven games, finishing second in the NEC with a 6-1 league tally.
With this announcement, Towson currently has two non-conference games scheduled for each 2025 and 2026.
