TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University athletics department considers success in the classroom one of its highest priorities. Towson earned strong academic achievement following the Fall 2021 semester.
Towson student-athletes currently stand with a 3.225 cumulative grade point average (GPA) after earning a 3.085 Fall 2021 semester GPA. This includes 194 student-athletes earning at least a 3.5 GPA this past semester, including 34 with a perfect 4.0.
Through Fall 2021, 15 Towson teams stand with a 3.0 cumulative GPA or better, including six teams with at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA. 307 student-athletes, over 60% of all Towson student-athletes, stand with a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher.
The Towson women's tennis team earned the highest Fall 2021 semester GPA at 3.679 and also holds the highest cumulative GPA among Tiger teams at 3.691. Two other teams, gymnastics and women's lacrosse, each had over a 3.5 Fall 2021 semester GPA.
In July, 322 Towson student-athletes were recognized on the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Academic Honor Rolls for having at least a 3.0 GPA through the Spring 2021 term.
Tiger student-athletes are assisted by the Towson University Athletics Academic Achievement program, which supports all student-athletes in their efforts to earn a degree.
