TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University football team is set to play FBS opponents in the upcoming four seasons, announced by the department of athletics on Tuesday.
 
The Tigers are set to play Maryland, South Carolina and Cincinnati in the next four seasons.  Towson will play Maryland in 2023 and 2025, Cincinnati in 2024 and South Carolina in 2026.
 
Towson has played at least one game against an FBS opponent every season played since 2008.  Towson's top achievement against an FBS foe came on Aug. 31, 2013 when the Tigers defeated UConn 33-18.
 
The 2022 Towson football season continues on, with the Tigers hosting William & Mary for Homecoming on Oct. 22.  For ticket information, interested parties can visit www.towsontigers.com, call1-855-TU-TIGER or email dkogok@towson.edu.
 
The Tigers have played twice against its university system rival Maryland and will rematch against the Terrapins on Sept. 2, 2023 and Sept. 13, 2025 in College Park.  Maryland plays in the Big Ten Conference, standing 4-2 this year.  Towson has also played against Big Ten opponents Indiana and Northwestern.
 
On Aug. 31, 2024, Towson and Cincinnati will play for the first time in Ohio.  Cincinnati will be joining the Big 12 Conference next year, standing 5-1 this season and ranked No. 24 in the AP Poll thus far.  It will be Towson's second-ever opponent from the Big 12, also competing against West Virginia.
 
Towson will line up against South Carolina on Sept. 12, 2026 in Columbia, a fixture of the Southeastern Conference.  The Gamecocks will be the third-ever SEC opponent for the Tigers, who also played LSU and Florida.  South Carolina is 4-2 this season, defeating then No. 13 Kentucky last weekend.
 
With this announcement, Towson has at least three non-conference games scheduled in each of the next four seasons.
