TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University field hockey team fell in a tightly-contested overtime clash with Holy Cross 2-1 Sunday afternoon at Hart Turf Field in Worcester, Mass. for the final game of the season.
Hannah McKeon scored for the Tigers, Samantha Aljets and Hedwig Veldhuizen recorded one assist each in the game.

How It Happened:
- The game remained scoreless through three quarters, with both sides unable to convert on early offensive opportunities.
- Towson generated three consecutive shots off a penalty corner with five minutes remaining in the third quarter but couldn't connect with two forced saves and a block in the sequence.
- Midway through the fourth quarter, the Crusaders connected on a goal off a penalty corner to take a late lead.
- The Tigers tied the game with less than 15 seconds remaining in regulation, sending it to overtime. Veldhuizen sent the ball in on a penalty corner to Aljets, who found McKeon for the score.
- With just over a minute remaining in the first overtime period, Holy Cross connected on a rebound off a penalty corner to clinch the game.

- With today's goal, McKeon finishes the season with team-highs of seven goals and 19 points. Her 19 points ranks 6th in the CAA and seven goals ranks 7th in the league.
- Veldhuizen and Aljets complete the 2022 campaign with six assists each, both tied for first on the team. Their six assists each rank them tied for seventh in the conference.
- The 2022 team features six seniors who have been fixtures in the lineup since arriving on campus in September 2019. After 18 games this season, the six have combined to start 262 games. Georgia Beachley and Hannah McKeon have each started 59 games, Samantha Aljets has started 41 games and Mackenzie Tillman has started 39 contests. Gianna Antone and Hannah King have each logged 32 starts for the Tigers.
