BOULDER, Colo. – The Tigers rallied back to pull within four at halftime, but ultimately fell 75-57 at Colorado on Monday night.
Dylan Williamson led the Tigers with 15 points adding three assists and two steals.
Towson (0-1) ended the first half cutting into the deficit, but the Buffaloes (1-0) came out in the second half and hit four straight threes to push their lead back to double figures.
Key Stats:
- Williamson shot 6-12 from the floor in just under 30 minutes. Charles Thompson was the only other Tiger in double figures with 13 points and five rebounds.
- Christian May led the Tigers with six rebounds as the Tiger defense forced 16 Colorado turnovers that led to 15 points.
- Towson ended the game shooting 43 percent from three.
How It Happened:
- Colorado got out to a quick 8-0 lead before the Tigers got back-to-back buckets from Dylan Williamson and Charles Thompson to cut the deficit to 8-4 at the under 16 timeout.
- The Tigers would go scoreless over a five-minute stretch as Colorado extended their lead to 12 forcing a Towson timeout.
- Thompson ended the scoring drought with a putback layup off an offensive rebound. He would then get a steal and finish after a great euro step to cut the deficit to eight.
- The Tigers would find their rhythm late in the half. Thompson and Dylan Williamson would lead a comeback charge to bring the deficit to just seven.
- A corner three from Messiah Jones would make it a four-point game with 1:34 left in the half. Colorado would miss a last second three as the Tigers went into the break down 28-24.
- Charles Thompson led the Tigers with nine points and three rebounds.
- Colorado came out of the gates in the second half with four straight triples to force a Towson timeout. That would extend to a 14-0 run before a Chase Paar free throw ended the run.
- Dylan Williamson would drill a stepback three to cut into the deficit.
- Messiah Jones would score five straight off an and one and pair of free throws to cut into the Buffaloes lead.
- Towson would fight back late but fell 75-57 at Colorado on Monday.
