TOWSON, Md. – Towson men's basketball assisted on 20 of 37 made baskets in a 97-46 rout of Arcadia on Saturday. With the win, head coach
Pat Skerry recorded his 200
th career win at Towson in his 13
th season.
Towson (7-6) got a bucket on the opening possession and never looked back against Arcadia, leading for all but six seconds in the win.
Dylan Williamson led the Tigers with 16 points going a perfect 7-7 from the floor.
Key Stats:
- Christian May and Tyler Tejada added 13 and 12 points respectively as 13 Tigers scored in the contest.
- Nendah Tarke led the Tigers with five assists adding six steals, which ties a career-high.
- Towson shot 59 percent from the floor and outscored the Knights 29-6 off turnovers and 52-22 in the paint.
How It Happened:
- Towson wasted little time getting going with Charles Thompson winning the opening tip and getting a dunk in the opening seconds.
- The Tigers would continue their strong start shooting over 70 percent from the floor in the first nine minutes.
- That stretch would continue to the under eight media timeout after Jaiden Cole drilled a three to give Towson a 32-11 advantage. Cole would hit a contested driving layup to extend the run to 15-3 before Arcadia hit a layup to quell the run.
- Arcadia would hit a three late in the half, but the Tigers took a 47-23 lead into halftime after leading by as many as 30 in the half.
- Towson shot 63 percent from the floor with 12 assists on 17 made baskets.
- Towson would get out to a fast start in the second half, ripping off a 10-0 run over the first 1:30 to force an Arcadia timeout.
- The Tigers would continue to extend the lead as Cole Paar hit a turnaround hook shot to make it a 47-point lead.
- Late in the game, Brandon Held would get a steal on one end and finish on the other as the Tigers came away with a 97-46 victory against Arcadia on Saturday.
