BOX SCORE TOWSON, Md.- Towson University Tigers tennis team opened their spring season against the Navy Midshipmen on Saturday morning. The Tigers were swept 7-0 by the Midshipmen. Antonia Lawson battled hard in her match against Ellie Choate but fell 6-4, 7-5. Towson returns to action against CAA foe William & Mary.


"The ladies gave a good effort today. Our tennis wasn't good enough to beat a team like Navy today. Tough circumstances being our first match of the spring as they have played 5 already," said Head Coach Jamie Peterson. "However, most of the ladies made adjustments in the second set of their singles to make their matches more competitive as they went on. We also are a very young and inexperienced team, having lost 4 starters, including our top three singles and top four doubles players. Each match we will be determined to get better."
