WASHINGTON, D.C. – Towson men's basketball erased a 13-point deficit in the second half to take a lead, but the Tigers fell 77-72 in the CAA semifinals on Monday night.
Cam Holden led the Tigers with 21 points.
Towson (21-12) took a brief lead with less than two minutes to go. Trailing with under a minute left,
Nicolas Timberlake had a clean look from three but his shot just missed the mark. Timberlake finished with 17 points.

- Charles Thompson added a game-high 10 rebounds as the Tigers outrebounded Charleston 44-40.
- Towson scored 36 of their 72 points in the paint.
How It Happened:
- Both teams exchanged baskets early, with the Cougars taking an 8-5 lead at the under 16 timeout.
- Towson would take the lead off a tough Sekou Sylla put back, giving Towson an 11-10 lead.
- Christian May would drill a corner three to put the Tigers in front 20-19 as the early part of the half went back and forth.
- The Tigers held Charleston to 1-8 from the floor between media timeouts as the two would be tied 20-20 at the under eight timeout.
- Ryan Conway would hit a three at the top of the key to push the Tigers in front by four, their largest lead of the half.
- Towson would continue to ratchet up the defense, holding the Cougars to 30 percent from the floor in the half.
- Nicolas Timberlake capped the half with a drive and slam to give Towson a 38-33 lead at the break.
- Charleston opened the half on a 9-2 run to take a 42-40 lead, forcing a Towson timeout.
- The Cougars would get out to a 13-point lead before five straight, including a Cam Holden and one made it an eight-point deficit.
- Holden would continue to lead the Tiger comeback after sticking a three to cut the deficit to 62-55 with 7:50 to go.
- Towson would roar back to within three after back-to-back triples from Nicolas Timberlake to make it 66-63 at the under four timeout.
