Ewa Beach, HI – The Towson University women's golf team has wrapped up the first 36 holes of the Dr.Donnis Thompson Invitational.
The Tigers sit in 10
th place after consistent rounds of 315 and 318. Combined the team has 12 birdies. First day efforts were led by sophomore
Odette Font Garcia who completed her second round tied for eighth after finishing six over.
UNCW (294-298) claimed first place at 16-over. Long Beach State's Angelina Kim was the top finisher individually at three-under after shooting 71 and 70.
Odette Font Garcia shot a 74 on her first round, recording back-to-back birdies on holes five and six. Font notched two more birdies her second round, shooting 76. She is at the top of the leaderboard for par three's, averaging 2.88.
Isabella Portokalis was the next top finisher for the Tigers, wrapping up the day in 35
th at 11-over. She shot 79 for her first 18 holes, recording 12 pars. She improved by three strokes for the second round, shooting a 76 consisting of two birdies.
Rayab Lee, who is competing as an individual, put forth consistent rounds of 81 and 80 to finish up at 17 over. Not too far behind was
Faith McIlvain at 22 over, improving between rounds shooting 86 and 80.
Madison Barber completed the first day at 23 over.
Kyndall Campbell rounded out the quad, shooting 89 and 86.
The final round will be completed today, beginning with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. (HST) / 12:30 p.m. (EST).
