How It Happened:

  • Towson's ride kept the pressure up, forcing another turnover at the mid-line for an offensive possession.  After a blocked shot, DeMaio got the ground ball and passed off to Kyle Berkeley for the shot in the corner.  31 seconds later, Berkeley scored again on a roll to the cage for a 3-0 Towson advantage with 7:11 left in the first.
  • Towson's defense continued to hold off Monmouth, including Elijah Smith and Ray Glass causing mayhem for turnovers on Monmouth quick plays.  Towards the end of the quarter, Josh Webber fired a laser into the back of the net for a goal to push Towson up 4-0 after one.
  • Towson forced a turnover then had a long possession with five shots, finishing with Mikey Weisshaar scoring off a dodge for a 5-0 Towson lead.
