Towson Women’s Lacrosse Downed by Stony Brook in the CAA Championship

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's lacrosse team faced off against the No. 1 seed Stony Brook Seawolves on Saturday. The Tigers (11-7) were defeated by the Seawolves (14-3) 19-4 at Tiger Field.
 
Valerie Thompson, Gabby Garrett, Milana Zizakovic and Katie McCormick all found the back of the net for the Black & Gold.

  • The Seawolves won the draw control battle 15-9.
  • Stony Brook went perfect on clear attempts, going 18-for-18.
  • Towson was outshot by the Seawolves 28-17.
  • Jo Torres totaled six saves for the Black & Gold while Stony Brook's Hailey Duchnowski finished with five saves.

  • The Seawolves opened the game with a 7-0 run capped off by back-to-back goals from Charlotte Verhulst.
