TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University football team and the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) have announced the full 2025 schedule.
 
Towson is set for five home games at Johnny Unitas® Stadium plus an eight-game conference schedule.  All times for the season, promotions for home games and ticket information will be announced at a later date.
 
The Tigers had a strong 2024 campaign, earning their first seven-win season since 2019 and winning CAA year since 2018 in the second season under head coach Pete Shinnick.  Towson finished 7-5 overall and 5-3 in the CAA, finishing the year on a three-game winning streak and notching a victory over then top-10 William & Mary.  The Tigers have earned a .500 or better CAA year five of the last six fall seasons.
 
All teams who will compete in CAA Football in 2025 had their schedules released on Wednesday.
 
Towson will play its first three games on the road, beginning with a return visit to Norfolk State on Thursday, Aug. 28.  Towson played the Spartans on Oct. 12, 2024, earning a 28-23 victory.
 
The next chapter of The Battle for Greater Baltimore will be on Saturday, Sept. 6 against Morgan State in Baltimore.  Towson has won the last seven meetings vs. its crosstown rival, including 14-9 at Unitas Stadium on Sept. 7, 2024.
 
The Tigers make a return visit to Maryland on Sat., Sept. 13.  Towson takes on the Terrapins for the first time since Sept. 2, 2023, the debut of Pete Shinnick as Towson head coach.
 
Towson will have its home opener on Sat., Sept. 20 against Youngstown State at Johnny Unitas® Stadium.  This is the first meeting between the Tigers and the Penguins since 1991.
 
Conference play begins for Towson on Sat., Sept. 27 at Bryant in Smithfield, Rhode Island.  This will be Towson's first-ever game vs. Bryant, which joined CAA Football in 2024.
 
The next two games for the Tigers will be at Unitas: vs. Elon on Sat., Oct. 4 and vs. Monmouth on Sat., Oct. 11.  Towson last played Elon at home in 2021 and Monmouth at home in 2023.
 
Following the bye week, the Black & Gold goes north to Long Island to battle Stony Brook on Sat., Oct. 25 in a rematch of Towson's 2024 Homecoming game.
 
The next week, Towson heads down to Greensboro for a game at North Carolina A&T on Sat., Nov. 1.  Towson defeated the Aggies 31-13 on Nov. 16, 2024.
 
Towson comes back home on Sat., Nov. 8 to host Villanova on campus, the first meeting at Unitas since 2022.
 
The Tigers head back to New York State for a game against UAlbany on Sat., Nov. 15, the first visit to the Capital District since a 56-28 victory in 2018.
 
The 2025 regular season finale will be the same opponent Towson closed out the 2024 regular season against as the Tigers host Campbell on Sat., Nov. 22.  Towson won 45-23 against Campbell in Buies Creek on Nov. 23, 2024.
