WASHINGTON, D.C. – Towson men's basketball battled top seeded Charleston to the end, but ultimately fell 61-56 on Monday. Towson had three reach double figures led by
Tyler Tejada with 16. Tejada scored 13 of his 16 in the second half.
Towson (20-14) ends their season with their third straight 20-win season and their third straight appearance in the CAA Semifinals.
Key Stats:
- Tejada led the way with 16 points scoring 13 in the second half, going 6-15 from the floor with four rebounds.
- Charles Thompson added 14 and six rebounds with three blocks in his final game as a Tiger. Redshirt freshman Dylan Williamson added 13 points.
- The Tigers shot 40 percent from the floor as the Tigers and Cougars battled through 12 lead changes and four ties.
How It Happened:
- Both teams battled back and forth early but a 7-0 Charleston run forced a Towson timeout with the Tigers trailing 11-5.
- Towson would battle back. After Charleston pushed back to a five-point lead, buckets from Charles Thompson and Dylan Williamson cut it to one at the under eight timeout.
- The Cougars would lead by as many as six in the first half, but Towson continued to fight. The Tigers put together a 6-0 run to take a three-point lead after back-to-back buckets from Thompson and Williamson at the under four timeout.
- The Tigers would lead late in the half, but it was the Cougars who took a 31-30 lead into the locker room.
- Thompson led all scorers with 11 points and six rebounds. Williamson chipped in 10 as the Tigers shot 43 percent from the floor with 18 of their 30 points in the paint.
- Charleston would come out and extend their lead early in the second half. However the Tigers continued to fight back. Tyler Tejada would find his groove willing the Tigers back in front at the under eight timeout by three.
- Towson would get out to a seven-point lead with less than four to go. However, the Cougars would go on a 13-1 run to end the game, ending the Tigers season with a 61-56 loss.

- Charles Thompson ended his prolific Tiger career as the all-time leader in games played (151) and games started (116). Thompson also ended in second place in minutes played, third in rebounds and fourth in blocks.
- The Tigers had their third straight 20-win season and third straight appearance in the CAA Semifinals.
