TOWSON, Md. – Towson softball evened up their three-game series with Elon on Saturday behind a complete game from
Erin Brown in a 5-1 win. The Tiger offense exploded for five runs and seven hits, including a solo home run from
Isabella Canesi.
Towson (16-25, 6-11 CAA) took an early lead before using a four-run fourth to pull away from the Phoenix. Canesi led the Tigers with two hits in the contest.

How It Happened:
- After neither team could get anything started in the first two innings, Towson finally got things started in the third. Isabella Canesi led off the inning blasting a solo home run to left center to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead.
- Elon would respond in their half of the fourth to tie it, but the Tigers had the answer in their half. Taylor Broadbent led off the inning with a single that just snuck past the pitcher. She would score just three pitches later on a Mackenzie Lake RBI triple to put Towson back in front.
- After a Cara Bohner walk, Kristin Toland brought home Lake with a sacrifice fly. Bohner and Grace Franczyk would score just batters later with Naila Neely singling home the pair to make it 5-1.
- The Phoenix got a single in the fifth but Towson was able to turn a double play and end the inning. Elon would get a runner to third in the sixth inning, but Brown got out of the jam with a ground out.
- Brown would shut the door on the Phoenix in the seventh to give Towson a 5-1 win.

- The Tigers and Phoenix will conclude their series tomorrow, Sunday, Apr. 14 at Tiger Softball Stadium. The rubber match of the series will start at 1 p.m. on FloSoftball.
