TOWSON, Md. – Former Towson University women's soccer standout
Jasmine Hamid signed her first professional contract with BK Häcken, the club announced on Tuesday.
Hamid joins the Swedish club after helping the Tigers to a Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) regular season and tournament championship in 2023.
BK Häcken competes in OBOS Damallsvenskan, Sweden's highest league and one of the world's best women's soccer leagues. The club is currently tied for first with a 1-0-0 record early in the 2024 season.
Hamid finished her senior season by being named to the first team after earning CAA Midfielder of the Year, tying
Nia Christopher for the league lead with 14 goals, finishing second with 32 points. Hamid led the league with 35 shots on goal and 90 shots and also earned United Soccer Coaches Third Team and All-ECAC Second Team honors.
The Tigers finished the 2023 season by making their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament after winning both the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) regular season and tournament titles. Towson won 15 games, the most in a single season in program history.
