BALTIMORE – The Towson University baseball team (10-30, 3-12 CAA) faced UMBC (17-17, 7-5 AEC) Tuesday evening, falling 4-3 in eleven innings at Alumni Field.

Towson posted three runs in the top of the second, capped by Jordan Peyton's RBI single to left field. A sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fourth put UMBC on the board. The Retrievers added another run in the bottom of the seventh on a ground-out with a runner on third. Following a single down the left field line in the bottom of the ninth, two steals and a wild pitch tied the game for UMBC. The Retrievers walked it off in the bottom of the eleventh, scoring on a high throw at home plate.

Key Stats:

Jeremy Wagner hit a ground ball by the third baseman, allowing two runs to score. Jordan Peyton followed with an RBI single to left field, scoring the third run of the frame for the Tigers.
  • Back-to-back singles and a wild pitch put runners on second and third in the bottom of the fourth for the Retrievers, setting up Baracani's sacrifice fly put to UMBC on the board.
