HAMPTON, Va. – Towson softball fought back from a three-run deficit, but ultimately fell 4-3 against Hampton in the 2024 regular season finale on Saturday.
Cara Bohner and
Grace Franczyk each drove in runs for the Tigers.
Towson (21-32, 10-17 CAA) had four different players record a hit with all four hits coming as extra base hits.

How It Happened:
- Hampton would threaten early by loading the bases in the first inning. However, starter Erin Brown got out of the jam with a ground out to keep it scoreless early.
- The Tigers would take the lead in the next half inning. Cara Bohner led off with walk and scored on a Grace Franczyk RBI double to left center to give Towson a 1-0 lead.
- The Pirates would tie the game in the bottom of the inning to make it 1-1 after three. They would then take the lead in the fourth on a two-run home run to make it 3-1 Pirates.
- That lead would extend to 4-1 after Hampton scored another run in the fifth.
- Cara Bohner would cut into the deficit in the sixth. Mackenzie Lake reached on an error and later scored on a Bohner triple to cut the deficit to 4-2. Franczyk would reach on an error to plate Bohner and cut it to 4-3.
- Towson would get the tying run to third after Naila Neely led off the seventh with a double and advanced on a wild pitch. However, the inning would end on a ground out as Hampton defeated Towson 4-3 on Saturday.
