Runyon Accepts Invite to 2025 East West Shrine Bowl

ARLINGTON, Texas – Towson University tight end Carter Runyon will continue his quest for the professional ranks as he has accepted an invite to the 2025 East West Shrine Bowl on January 30.
 
Runyon is the second player in Towson history who will play in the Shrine Bowl.  Tye Smith, who played in the National Football League (NFL) from 2015-21, played in the Shrine Bowl in 2015.
 
Runyon also played in the Hula Bowl on January 11 and had also been invited to the 2025 Reese's Senior Bowl.
 
For the 2024 season, Runyon has been recognized as an All-American by the DI FCS ADA, Associated Press, Stats Perform, FCS Football Central and Phil Steele.  This season, the Fairfax, Virginia native earned team-best 45 receptions and five receiving touchdowns in 12 games, totaling 502 yards.  In his two years with Towson, he tallied up 88 catches for 1,051 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.
 
The East West Shrine Bowl, celebrating its 100th year in 2025, will be at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, in Arlington, Texas at 8 p.m. ET (7 p.m. CT).  The game will air live on the NFL Network.
 
Runyon has declared for the 2025 National Football League Draft, set for April 24-26, 2025.
