TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University men's basketball team hosted the Northeastern Huskies on Thursday night in the Tigers' CAA home opener. The Tigers (7-9, 2-1 CAA) defeated the Huskies (9-7, 1-2 CAA) 80-73 at TU Arena.
 
Christian May led the Tigers with a season-high 17 points, a career-high 12 rebounds and five assists. Nendah Tarke finished with 17 points and seven rebounds off the bench.

• The Tigers shot 53.1% from the floor and 54.5% from behind the arc in the second half.
• Towson won the rebounding battle, 40-34.

• Towson got off to a fast start, opening the game with a 12-6 run that included three-pointers from Tyler Tejada and Tomiwa Sulaiman.
• The Huskies responded by scoring 18 of the next 23 points to have a seven-point advantage midway through the first half.
• The Tigers countered with an 11-2 run capped off by a Christian May dunk to lead 28-26 with 4:52 remaining.
• Northeastern scored 11 straight points, before Tejada added a late pair of free throws as Towson trailed 37-30 heading into halftime.
• The Tigers started the second half by scoring 11 of the first 17 points led by a pair of three-pointers from May to cut the deficit down to two.

• The Huskies responded with a layup to trail by three, but Towson closed the game out by scoring four straight points to defeat Northeastern 80-73.
