TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University volleyball team hosted Elon on Friday evening at SECU Arena with a 17-match winning streak hanging in the balance.
Ella Sanders was a force in the match, leading Towson (18-2, 9-0 CAA) with 15 kills and 11 digs on a .520 hitting percentage in the three-set victory over Elon (4-14, 2-5 CAA).

- Towson outhit Elon .385 to .219 in the match. In the third set, the Tigers held a decisive .516 to .263 hitting advantage.

How it Happened
- Towson began the opening set with a 6-2 lead before surrendering five-straight points to Elon, giving the Phoenix an early 7-6 lead.
- The teams traded short rallies with a few ties along the way to get to 14 all.
- The Tigers followed that with five unanswered points to take a five-point edge late in the first set.
- The Black & Gold took four of the final five points, two by way of an Erin Brothers kill and Maisie Jesse ace, to win the opening set 25-18.
- After the Phoenix opened set two with a modest 3-2 lead, the Tigers scored eight of the following nine points to take a 10-4 lead.
- The teams traded short runs to 14-8 before Towson scored four of the next five points, with two kills from Sarah Callender and an ace from Sanders, pushing the TU lead to 18-9.
- Up 19-12, the Black & Gold closed the second set on a 6-3 run for a 25-15 win.
- Towson opened set three how they closed set two, on a 6-3 run.
- Later in the frame with a three-point lead, four unanswered from the Tigers moved the score to 15-8.
- The Phoenix battled back, closing the gap to four at 23-19 before a pair of Towson points gave the Tigers the 25-19 win in set three.

- Sanders posted her ninth double-double this year, finishing with 15 kills and 11 digs on a .520 attack percentage. Sanders added four aces, two digs and one block.
- Jesse recorded 20 assists in the Tigers' sweep. It marks the third time this season Jesse posted 20 assists in a three-set match.
