Sydney Stewart has been named the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
Stewart paced the league last week with 6.83 digs per set, helping the Tigers secure a pair of straight-set victories over UNCW at SECU Arena. The senior opened the weekend slate with 18 digs to go with four assists and a service ace. She proved to be vital again on the backline as
Stewart dug out 23 balls in the Tigers' three-set win on Saturday.
This is
Stewart's third-consecutive CAA Defensive Player of the Week honor.
Up Next Towson will embark on its second league road series against William & Mary on Friday and Saturday. The Tigers and Tribe are set for 6 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.
