TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University men's basketball team will face its first DI opponent at home this season when they play the Norfolk State Spartans on Friday. It will be the first of two straight games that the Tigers are playing a team that was picked to win their conference in the preseason poll.
Â
SCOUTING NORFOLK STATE
Norfolk State is 2-2 on the season but have lost both games they have played to DI schools while beating both non-DI schools. Both DI losses have been by three points. The Spartans played a CAA team already this year, William & Mary, who they lost to 81-78. Against DI opponents, Anthony Macomb III is leading Norfolk State in scoring with 16 points while shooting .500 from three and a perfect five-for-five from the charity stripe. In all games, Macomb III is averaging 17.25 points per game. Macomb III, Devon Ellis, Jordan Leaks, Keyontae Lewis and Adrean Newton have started all four games for the Spartans. Elijah Jamison has come off the bench every game this season and played the second most minutes on the team at 26.25.
Â
RETURNERS
Towson is one of only five schools to have a conference player of the year return to their school for the 2025-26 season in
Tyler Tejada. The Tigers are also the only team in the CAA to return All-CAA players in Tejada and
Dylan Williamson.
Â
TRANSFERS
Towson added some key names in the portal. Jack Doumbia comes from Wright State and was used in over 28% of their possessions.
