Tyler Tejada Posts First Career Double Double in Loss to William & Mary

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Tigers had an 11-0 run late in the game but ultimately fell to William & Mary in the CAA opener on the road 84-70.
Tyler Tejada put up 13 points and 11 rebounds for his first career double double.

KEY STATS
  • The Tribe outscored the Tigers 36-25 in bench points.
  • Dylan Williamson and Tejada both played more than 38 minutes with Williamson only being off the floor for 32 second.
  • Five Tigers scored in double figures with Williamson leading the way totaling 15.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The game was played evenly for the first six minutes before two quick threes by Jaquan Womack and Tejada gave the Tiger a seven point lead.
  • The next few minutes were played tight before play was stopped for the under eight media time out. From that point on, Towson only scored three points for the rest of the half to enter the locker room down 11 at 38-27.
  • The Tribe came out on an 18-7 run to start the second half, extending their lead to 22.
  • Towson fought back, slowly chipping at the lead before an 11-0 run brought the game to a seven point deficit. The Tigers would only get one point closer before eventually falling 84-70.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • This is the first game in Tejada's career where he recorded double digit rebounds.
  • Towson moves to 1-4 in black jerseys.
  • This is the first time the Tigers have lost this season when recording more than 10 assists.
UP NEXT
Following the game against the Tribe, Towson makes the jaunt about 30 miles south to Hampton University. The Pirates sit at 6-7 coming into conference play with two players scoring in double figures. Michael Eley averages 11.8 points per game to lead the team. Jalyke Gaines-Wyatt averages 11.4 points per game while contributing 3.4 assists per game.
