HAMPTON, Va. – The Towson University men's basketball team looks to bounce back from a CAA opener loss against William & Mary as they face Hampton on New Year's Eve. The away team has never won a game in the Hampton-Towson series
 
SCOUTING HAMPTON
The Pirates sit at 7-7 after one conference game with three players scoring in double figures. Michael Eley leads the team with 11.8 points per game. Jalyke Gaines-Wyatt averages 11.5 points per game while contributing 3.2 assists per game. Xzavier Long averages a double-double on the season with 10.4 points and 11.0 rebounds per game. Hampton opened conference play against Stony Brook where they came away with a 62-59 win. Both the Pirates and Seawolves scored the fewst points in the first round of CAA games. The Pirates recorded 11 steals, the most of any CAA team to open the season, but shot 3-for-20 from deep notching the conference low in three point field goals made and three point field goal percentage.
