BROOKLINE, Mass. – The Towson University baseball team concluded its first Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) series of the season vs. Northeastern on Sunday afternoon at Friedman Diamond in Brookline, Massachusetts.
After three scoreless innings to begin the game, Northeastern took a 1-0 lead in fourth on a bunt single with two runners one. The Huskies (14-8, 2-1 CAA) tacked on five more on five hits in the bottom of the sixth, extended their lead to six. After back-to-back hits to begin the top of the ninth, two successive sacrifice flies put two runs on the board for the Tigers (8-17, 1-2 CAA). The final batter was retired for a 6-2 win in favor of the Huskies.

- Towson starter Dutch DeProspero (1-3) took the loss with five earned runs allowed on five hits and three walks in his 5.0 inning start. DeProspero struck out three.
- Northeastern starter Jordan Gottesman (2-1) earned the win, tossing 6.0 shutout innings with one hit and one walk allowed. Gottesman fanned seven batters. Husky reliever Jack Bowery picked up his first save of the season with two runs allowed, one earned, on three hits in 3.0 innings pitched. Bowery struck out three.
How it Happened
- DeProspero started the game with ten-straight Husky batters retired before Gerety's bunt single with two runners in scoring position gave Northeastern a 1-0 lead.
- The Huskies added five runs on five hits in the bottom of the sixth, extending their lead to 6-0.
- Max D'Alessandro and Brian Heckelman hit back-to-back singles in the top of the ninth, both advancing another base on a fielding error in left field. Sacrifice flies from Brady Nathison and Ethan Brand to follow put two runs up for the Tigers before the final batter was retired for a 6-2 win in favor of the Huskies.
