Towson Women’s Lacrosse Drops CAA Opener to #15 Stony Brook

STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Towson University women's lacrosse team opened conference play against the #15 Stony Brook Seawolves on Saturday. The Tigers (3-3, 0-1 CAA) fell to the Seawolves (4-2, 1-0 CAA) 17-6 on Long Island.
 
Milana Zizakovic and Katie Roszko each finished with two points while seven Tigers tallied a point.

  • Jenna Cardeno finished 13 saves and three ground balls.
  • The Seawolves outshot the Tigers 35-16.
  • Stony Brook won the draw control battle 18-9.
 
How It Happened vs. Stony Brook:
  • The Seawolves got off to a fast start, scoring two goals in the first five minutes.
  • Luca DeMaio scored her sixth goal of the season after she fired a low shot that beat Altebrando to cut the deficit in half.
  • Stony Brook closed out the first quarter with three more goals to have a four-goal advantage.
  • The Seawolves opened the second quarter with Charlotte Wilmoth's third goal of the game.
  • A minute later, Valerie Thompson scored her 12th goal of the year on a free position attempt.
