TOWSON, Md – The Towson University softball team played its second midweek game of the week vs cross town rivals Morgan State. A two-run single in the 4
th inning from
Elizabeth Yoskowitz proved the decider as the Tigers took a 4-3 victory.

Key Stats:
- Kristin Toland hit her 5th homerun of the season and Elizabeth Yoskowitz hit a two-run go-ahead single.
- Olivia Trombley earned her 5th win of the season after pitching 7.0 innings allowing five hits and three runs with one earned and two strikeouts.
- Serena Rodriguez receives the loss after throwing 4.0 innings allowing five hits and four runs with two strikeouts.
How it happened:
- Towson struck early in the bottom of the 1st as Briyana Wright drew a leadoff walk and two batters later Kristin Toland hit her 5th homerun of the season to put Towson ahead 2-0.
- After a scoreless 2nd inning, Morgan Alvarez hit a leadoff double and Amber Rivas singled and stole second to put runners on second and third in the 3rd. The next batter Olivia Garner singled to score one and a throwing error allowed a second run to score to tie the game. The next batter hit a sac fly to give the Lady Bears a 3-2 lead.
- Towson was unable to make up the runs in the bottom of the 3rd.
- In the bottom of the 4th, Madyson Peters hit a one-out double and Alyssa Myint hit a two-out single and stole second. With two in scoring position and two outs Elizabeth Yoskowitz hit single back up the middle to score both runners and return the lead to Towson 4-3.
- Diving catches from Wright and Kaci Benton secured a one-two-three 5th inning for Olivia Trombley.
- The bottom of the 5th and both halves of the 6th each only saw three batters come to the plate.
- Rivas hit a two-out single in the top of the 7th but a groundout sealed Trombley's complete game and a 4-3 win for Towson.
On Deck:
The Tigers remain at home this weekend to host Hampton for a Coastal Athletic Association series with Friday's game scheduled for a 2 p.m. start time.
