TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University baseball team hosted William & Mary on Saturday afternoon in the final home contest of 2025 at John B. Schuerholz Park. Before the final game, the Tigers and Tribe concluded their suspended game from Friday starting in the bottom of the seventh inning.
In a high-scoring affair, the Tigers (21-34, 11-15 CAA) held a 13-3 lead after three innings. William & Mary (20-33, 13-13 CAA) battled back, scoring five in the fourth, two in the seventh and one in the eighth to pull within two runs of the Tigers.
Kyle Emmons retired the final three outs of the ninth inning to win 13-11 and secure another CAA series win on the year.
Key Stats in Game One
- Towson reliever Jacob Whiteman (1-2) earned the win, allowing four earned runs on five hits in 4.0 innings pitched. Whiteman struck out four batters faced. Kyle Emmons earned his third save of the season after allowing one unearned run on one hit and two walks in 2.0 innings pitched.
- William & Mary starter Zach Boyd (3-3) took the loss, allowing eight earned runs on seven hits and two walks in 2.2 innings pitched. Boyd struck out one.
How it Happened in Game One
- William & Mary got on the board first by way of Christian Rush's solo home run to left field.
- Jordan Peyton and Nich Francuzenko started the bottom half with back-to-back doubles to tie the game quickly. After Brian Heckelman's single to right field, Brett Ahalt plated Francuzenko on an infield single to second base. Max D'Alessandro extended the lead to 4-1 on a two-run single to right field.
- Francuzenko picked up another extra-base hit in the third on a solo home run to right, making it a four-run lead.
- The Tribe scored two runs on three hits in the next frame, cutting down Towson's lead to two.
- In the bottom of the third, two of the first three batters faced were retired with D'Alessandro's single through the left side the lone outlier. After back-to-back walks, Boyd was pulled for Weight. A bases loaded hit batter brought home the first run of the frame and the next three were scored on two wild pitches. Heckelman's single to short played the tenth Towson run of the game and Ahalt followed with a three-run home run to right field to make it a 13-3 lead.
- William & Mary scored five runs in the next frame on two home runs, cutting their deficit to 13-8.
- Felmlee's homer to left in the seventh inning pulled the Tribe within three runs.
- The game was suspended following the top of the seventh inning and resumed on Saturday at 1 p.m.
- An RBI groundout to short in the eighth pulled William & Mary within two runs of the Tigers.

The Tigers (21-35, 11-16 CAA) took an early lead once again, going up 5-1 after four innings. Towson added another run in the sixth before William & Mary (21-33, 14-13 CAA) scored two in the seventh and four in the ninth to take a 7-6 lead, their first of the day. The tigers went down in order in the bottom half to fall by one run in the final game of the season at John B. Schuerholz Park.

- Towson reliever Nate Nabholz (4-1) took the loss, allowing four runs, three earned, on five hits in 1.0 inning pitched. Nabholz struck out two batters.
- William & Mary reliever Reed Interdonato (3-3) earned the win, tossing 2.0 scoreless, hitless frames with two strikeouts and one hit batter.
How it Happened in Game Two
- Brett Ahalt put the Tigers on the board in the first inning, bringing home Jordan Peyton on a two-run homer to right field.
- Iriotakis knocked in the first William & Mary run of the game on the top of the second to make it 2-1.
- With the bases loaded in the bottom of the third, Max D'Alessandro was hit by a pitch and Brady Nathison walked two batters later to push the Tiger lead to 4-1.
- Peyton doubled in the fourth and got to third on a wild pitch. He scored on Nich Francuzenko's single to center field to push Towson's lead to four runs.
- Brian Heckelman scored on a passed ball in the sixth inning to make it a 6-1 game.
- The Tribe scored two runs on four hits in the top of the seventh inning to cut down the TU lead to three runs.
- William & Mary added four runs on five hits in the top of the ninth to take their first lead of the game at 7-6.
- The Tigers went down in order in the bottom half, giving William & Mary a 7-6 win.
