TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University football team is back, completing its first practice of the 2025 preseason camp this morning.
 
The first day of fall camp begins exactly one month before the first upcoming game of the 2025 season.  The Tigers worked out on the Lower Fields Complex, where the team will hold a majority of its preseason camp practices.
 
The Tigers, competed in individual drills and 7-on-7 competition on the first day of practice.  Several new Tigers saw their first practice as new members of the team.
 
"It feels great to be back," said Towson head coach Pete Shinnick, entering his third year at the helm of the Tigers.  "Our guys have done a fantastic job all summer.  Coach Vieux and his staff got the guys ready and going; I liked how many reps we got and what we were able to get done on day one."
 
"The energy was good," said Towson graduate student defensive back Xavier Terry, recently named Preseason All-CAA Second Team. "We just need to be a bit more detailed, but it was a good practice for us."
 
The Tigers had a strong 2024 campaign, earning their first seven-win season since 2019 and winning CAA year since 2018 in the second season under Coach Shinnick.  Towson finished 7-5 overall and 5-3 in the CAA, finishing the year on a three-game winning streak and notching a victory over then top-10 William & Mary.  The Tigers have earned a .500 or better CAA year five of the last six fall seasons.
