TOWSON, Md. – The season-opening victory for Towson University football has been followed with a pair of Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) weekly awards for
Caden Williams and
Andrew Indorf.
Williams is the CAA Special Teams Player of the Week while Indorf is the CAA Rookie of the Week.
This is the first league weekly award for both players. Williams earns Towson's first CAA Special Teams Player of the Week honor since Sept. 4, 2024 while Indorf is the first CAA Rookie of the Week for Towson since
Zay Perkins on Nov. 7, 2022.
The duo was honored after Towson's 27-7 victory at Norfolk State on Thursday, winning the team's first season opener under head coach
Pete Shinnick.
Williams stepped into his role of place kicker on Thursday and was 2-for-2 on field goals, including the first 50-yard field goal for Towson since 2018, and 3-for-3 on extra points. The senior from Allen, Texas also had three touchbacks on kickoffs.
Indorf started at quarterback in his first-ever collegiate game, going 14-for-26 for 187 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. The true freshman from Miami had two passing touchdowns on third downs in the fourth quarter, including a 36-yard TD pass to Perkins to convert a third and 20.
Towson is getting ready for The Battle for Greater Baltimore on Saturday, Sept. 6 at 6 p.m. at Morgan State.
