TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University men's basketball team (12-11, 4-6 CAA) will have its first Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) rematch of the season when they welcome Hampton (10-12, 4-5 CAA) to SECU Arena. The first game of the season was on Dec. 31, 2025 a 63-62 Pirates win in Hampton.
 
The CAA standings are tightly contested with the third through ninth-ranked teams all within one game of each other with teams three through seven all tied.
 
This game is Mascot Mania with the first 1,500 fans receiving a Doc Squishmallow. There will be mascot themed promotions and antics throughout the game. Fans can interact with 15 different mascots including Doc the Tiger, the Oriole Bird and Testudo (University of Maryland) before all the mascots play a game at half time.

SCOUTING HAMPTON
Two Pirates score in double figures with Michael Eley leading the way at 12.7 points per game and Jalyke Gaines-Wyatt just behind him at 11.7 points per game. Xzavier Long nearly averages a double-double with 10.2 rebounds per game, which leads the team, and 9.6 points per game. He puts up 2.2 assists per game, good for second on the team behind Gaines-Wyatt who averages 3.2 per game. Long is the only player on the team to average more than 30 minutes per game at 33.8.
