WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Towson University women's soccer clinched at least a share of the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) North Division Title with a win over Monmouth on the road 2-0 on Sunday.
With results around the conference, the North Division teams are determined for postseason play. Towson, Hofstra and Stony Brook will compete from the North Division in the CAA Women's Soccer Championships.
Towson will be either the one or two-seed. Towson is the one-seed with any point or a loss AND a Hofstra draw/loss. Towson is the two-seed with a loss and a Hofstra win.
"I'm incredibly proud of the fight and composure we played with today. Teagan and our defense came up big with another shut-out. Sophie played a beautiful ball through to Meron who slotted it away for the first goal. And then KP served the corner for a banger from Brooke to seal the game. It's thrilling to clinch playoffs, but now we fight to win the North. Drexel will be tough as they are coming off two strong results. We need to bring our best at home next Sunday," Towson Head Coach
Katherine Vettori said.
