Key Situations
  • 1st Quarter: The Tigers jumped out quick taking nine unanswered shots in the first six minutes of the game one of which came in the first minute of the game when a Tiger corner saw its first shot save but the rebound fell to Anouk Westerink who put Towson ahead immediately. Five minutes later another initial shot from a corner was popped into the air and Delfina Larripa was the one to put it home and give Towson a 2-0 lead after 15 minutes.
  • 2nd Quarter: It was Hofstra's turn to create a quick chance at the start of the second period but two saves from Riley Redding kept the goal clean. Midway through the period Olivia Thunnissen took the ball at midfield and carried to the edge of the Pride circle before playing a ball that deflected back to the freshmen who shot into the bottom corner to make it 3-0. Hofstra scored from a corner in the final minute of the half to cut the lead to 3-1 at the break.
  • 3rd Quarter: The third period started slower than the first two but picked up in the final five minutes, first a Tiger breakaway off a Pride corner saw Gianna Tripodi's shot beat the Hofstra goalie but get stopped by a Pride defender at the goal line. With two minutes left in the period, a ball into the Hofstra circle found Westerink whose first shot was saved but her rebound wasn't as Towson led 4-1 heading into the final quarter.
  • 4th Quarter: Hofstra started the fourth quarter strong by scoring to cut the Tiger lead back to two.  But two minutes later a penalty corner from Thunnissen saw its initial shot deflect off multiple sticks before Thunnissen got on the end of it and scored her second of the day to seal a 5-2 Towson win.
