TOWSON, Md. – Senior
Chandrè Boshoff was a perfect three-for-three for the Towson University tennis team at this weekend's Loyola's McClure Invitational. Sunday's match versus Morgan State was canceled because of rain. The Tigers faced Mount St. Mary's on Friday afternoon and the host team on Saturday.
Versus the Mount, Boshoff teamed up with
Kiersten Tambe to defeat Emma Perkins and Anna Berlini 6-2 at No. 1 doubles. Perkins and Berlini were named First Team All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) in 2025-2. Tambe and Boshoff earned Third Team All- Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) honors last season.
She then beat Emma Kaden 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.
On Saturday, the South African native knocked off Loyola's Kenza Kharbouch 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.
At last weekend's Towson Hidden Duals, Boshoff downed Morgan State's Anissa Jean-Claude 6-0, 6-2 at No. 4 singles. Boshoff has been part of the No. 1 doubles team since arriving on campus in fall 2023 and spent last season playing No. 3 singles.
"Chandrè Boshoff had a great weekend of tennis," Towson head Coach
Jamie Peterson said. "She was very focused and played excellent tactical tennis. She displayed everything I want to see as a coach and is playing some of her best tennis right now."
Towson won six of 12 competed matches this weekend, including all three doubles matches versus Mount St. Mary's. In addition to the victory by Boshoff and Tambe,
Aubrey Carper and
Chloe Courtnage were victorious at No. 2, while
Gaia Montecchi and
Ashira Murray were impressive 6-1 winners on court 3.
