Towson Alum Brian Fleury Hired as Offensive Coordinator for Seattle Seahawks

SEATTLE – The reigning National Football League (NFL) champion will be adding a Tiger to its coaching ranks as Brian Fleury '02 has been hired as the new offensive coordinator of the Seattle Seahawks.

Fleury is the third Tiger who will be an NFL coordinator for the 2026 season.  Grant Udinski '19 is the offensive coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars while Brian Duker '10 recently was hired as the defensive coordinator of the New York Jets.

He joins a Seahawks team that on Feb. 8, 2026, won Super Bowl LX 29-13 over the New England Patriots in San Francisco.  The Seahawks finished with a 17-3 overall record. Fleury will be the offensive coordinator under head coach Mike Macdonald, former defensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens.

Fleury has spent the last seven seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, being the tight ends coach the past four years and the run game coordinator in 2025.  He helped the 49ers to Super Bowl appearances for the 2019 and 2023 seasons and three NFC West division titles.

Previously, he had stops in the NFL with the Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns and Miami Dolphins.  He came back to his alma mater as a special teams coordinator and defensive backs coach from 2009-12, also coaching at Sacred Heart and Maryland previously.

Several other Tigers are in the NFL coaching ranks.  Jim O'Neil '01 is a defensive assistant for the Detroit Lions, Shawn Flaherty '17 was just hired as an assistant offensive line coach for the Baltimore Ravens while Collin Bauer '13 also is on the Jets as a defensive assistant.
