Ashira Murray was named Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Women's Player of the Week by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.
The junior improved to 7-0 this season with a pair of three set victories last week.
Competing at No. 4 singles, the Birkenhead, England native battled past Georgetown's Ashley Kennedy, 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (10-7) Friday night to help the Tigers earn a 4-2 team win. She followed by edging Navy's Jina Cha, 3-6, 7-6 (4), 1-0 (11-9) on Saturday - capturing the final five points of the match.
Last week,
Chandrè Boshoff and
Kiersten Tambe were selected as the CAA Doubles Team of the Week. This is the first time that Towson has had multiple conference Players of the Week since 2016 when Lucy Wiliams and Barbora Vasilkova both earned Player of the Week honors.
The Tigers (4-3) have two matches this week – at home Saturday versus William & Mary in the CAA opener and at James Madison on Sunday afternoon.
