TOWSON, Md.  – The Towson University softball team faced Monmouth in the final game of a Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) series on Sunday. The Tiger's suffered a series sweep to the Hawks after losing game three 3-1.
 
Key Stats:

• Mackenzie Gorczyca hit 3-4 and had the Tigers only RBI.
• Hannah Lebert walked, scored a run and stole a base.
• Addie Ferguson doubled.
• Jada Wade recorded a hit in her only at bat of the game.
• Mikaela Guy received the loss after allowing nine hits and one earned run with three strikeouts over a 7.0 inning complete game.
• Alyssa Eimont earns the win after pitching a 7.0 inning complete game and allowing five hits and one run with five strikeouts.

 
How it Happened:

• Both starting pitchers started off their games with scoreless 1^st innings.
• Isabella Canesi's diving catch allowed Mikaela Guy to keep Monmouth off the board in the second as well.
• Addie Ferguson hit a lead-off double in the bottom of the second, but the Tigers couldn't bring her around.
• Hannah Lebert walked to lead-off the bottom of the 3^rd and stole second base. With two outs, Mackenzie Gorczyca drove Lebert home with an RBI single to open the scoring.
• The score would stay 1-0 in the Tigers favor through he 4^th and 5^th innings.
• In the top of the 6^th, Monmouth took advantage of multiple Towson errors to score two runs and take a 2-1 lead entering the 7^th.
• Monmouth tacked on a third run in the 7^th via a sacrifice fly.
• Pinch hitter Jada Wade led off the bottom of the 7^th with a single, but the Tiger's were unable to get any runs back and fell 3-1 to the Hawks.
